Select/extrapolate the basic monthly obligation from the statutory schedule using combined monthly gross income and child count. For sole custody, add allowable child health coverage and work-related child care, allocate by gross-income share, and credit the noncustodial parent for qualifying coverage paid. Split custody computes separate sole obligations and offsets. Shared custody (more than 90 days) multiplies the basic need by 1.4, weights each parent's obligation by the other parent's custody share and that parent's income share, adds coverage/child care as directed, and offsets.
How income is counted: Gross income under section 20-108.2(C) includes income from all sources, including wages, commissions, bonuses, dividends, pensions, interest, capital gains, Social Security (subject to exclusions), workers compensation, unemployment, disability, veterans benefits, spousal support, rental income, gifts, prizes, and awards, with statutory exclusions and self-employment deductions. The formula also accounts for qualifying spousal support and support of other children as prescribed.
