This is an estimate for information only — not legal advice, and not a court calculation. Judges can and do deviate from guideline amounts. For the number a court would use, see Montana Child Support Guidelines Administrative Rules.

This number is a snapshot. Child support depends on parenting time, and parenting time drifts — swapped weekends, changed holidays, summer schedules. Vireo keeps the custody calendar, messages and shared expenses in one timestamped record, so what actually happened is never a matter of memory.

How Montana calculates child support

Determine each parent's annual income available after deductions and personal allowance; determine parental shares of total income; calculate the primary child support allowance and supplements; account for parenting days; apply the minimum-support rule; calculate standard-of-living adjustment (SOLA) from remaining income; add long-distance parenting adjustment where applicable; determine each parent's total support and the transfer payment.

How income is counted: Annual income available for child support is determined from actual and imputed income under ARM 37.62.105–.108, less allowable deductions under .110 and the annual personal allowance, with nonallowable deductions excluded under .111.
