This is an estimate for information only — not legal advice, and not a court calculation. Judges can and do deviate from guideline amounts. For the number a court would use, see Mississippi 2022 HB 1067 as sent to Governor.

This number is a snapshot. Child support depends on parenting time, and parenting time drifts — swapped weekends, changed holidays, summer schedules. Vireo keeps the custody calendar, messages and shared expenses in one timestamped record, so what actually happened is never a matter of memory.

How Mississippi calculates child support

Multiply obligor adjusted gross income by 14% for one child, 20% for two, 22% for three, 24% for four, or 26% for five or more children; add/address reasonable medical support; apply only as a rebuttable presumption and document any statutory departure.

How income is counted: Adjusted gross income of the noncustodial parent: gross income from all potential sources, less legally required deductions such as taxes and Social Security, mandatory retirement/disability contributions, and support for other children as specified in §43-19-101.
