This number is a snapshot. Child support depends on parenting time, and parenting time drifts — swapped weekends, changed holidays, summer schedules. Vireo keeps the custody calendar, messages and shared expenses in one timestamped record, so what actually happened is never a matter of memory.

How Alaska calculates child support

Primary custody: adjusted annual income of the noncustodial parent multiplied by 20% for one child, 27% for two, 33% for three, plus 3 percentage points for each additional child, subject to the rule's minimum, cap, and exceptions. Shared custody: calculate each parent's primary-custody amount, multiply each by the percentage of the year the other parent has physical custody, multiply each result by 1.5, offset, and apply the rule's floor. Divided and hybrid custody use the distinct Rule 90.3 formulas and official worksheets.

How income is counted: Annual total income from all sources minus deductions specifically permitted by Rule 90.3(a)(1), including mandatory deductions, certain child-support obligations or support for prior children, specified work-related child care, allowable health insurance and life insurance, and other enumerated items. Rule and commentary govern self-employment, in-kind benefits, imputed income, Native dividends, and exclusions.
